Philosophy Made Slightly Less Difficult, ch. 2
What is real? That is the next question that Moreland and DeWeese treat in this book. Metaphysics is treated through a discussion of universals and how to make 'is' statements. This section took up several areas including universals, identity, substances, nature, essences and modality. I found this section both challenging and interesting for the same reason: it is often not discussed in our culture. I am certain that, like logic, this is an area where I will need to spend more time if I am to be aware of issues within the discipline.
