Is God a Moral Monster? ch. 15
Copan takes up what seems to be the greatest challenge of the book: God's command to kill the Canaanites. Copan makes a strong case in these chapters. He lays the groundwork for God's right to destroy people who are wicked. He describes God's patience with the Canaanites and the temporary (really, one time) nature of this command. Copan explains that this command must be understood in light of the command to be a blessing to all nations. What is most helpful for me in this chapter is his explanation that of God's sufficiency vs. God's efficiency.
