Is God a Moral Monster? ch. 7
I have heard the argument over food laws come up over and over. I have never been satisfied with the answers. Finding this chapter was so helpful for me. The important point made here is the distinction of Israel as a theocracy and nation. Because this is no longer the case, we are not bound by those same rules. There are 'laws' that are timeless, but the food laws (among other things) are not part of that timeless edict. The distinction between clean and unclean as different than sinful and holy was very helpful as well. I would consider this the most important chapter up to this point in the book.
