Copan continues his discussion of slavery by addressing some challenging texts. Copan is careful to apply a healthy dose of common sense and excellent exegeis. His explanation of alien, foreigner and stranger was particularly helpful in understanding what these passages were seeking to address. He also explains the change from Exodus to Deuteronomy using C.Wright viewing Deuteronomy as "modifying, extending, and to some extent reforming earlier laws, with additional explicit theological rationale and motivation."
