Is God a Moral Monster? ch. 14

"Spiritual status was more fundamental than social status." The radical nature of Christ and the New Testament demonstrates this concept. Slaves called brothers and even, at times, in leadership positions is obviously counter-cultural and dignifying to all humankind. We as Christians are free to truly live as humans, yet slaves of Christ and to our fellow man as we seek to honor God. The tension of the Kingdom of God becomes clear in the treatment of slaves and our own status of slavery as well.
