Is God a Moral Monster? ch. 4

This chapter is shaped by the accusation that God is jealous. Copan does not deny this accusation, but seeks to explain what godly, biblical jealousy looks like. He packages this in an understanding of a 'covenant-making God'. Some of the more salient points were as follows:
-Jealousy implies vulnerability and an ability to experience pain.
-New Atheists create false dichotomies between God's rule and human well-being as well as between sovereign coercion and human autonomy.
I think Copan establishes in this chapter (and the previous) that the New Atheists are using many of their arguments as straw men.
