Philosophy Made Slightly Less Difficult, ch. 5
What am I? The nature of humans is considered here. What seems to be the topic of debate is dualism in light of scientism (naturalism). Dualism was almost exclusively dealt with and defended in this chapter. Five aspects of the nature of consciousness were sensation, thought, belief, desire and will. The defense of dualism against naturalism was helpful in further understanding what is at stake, what the major tensions are, and what exactly we are talking about. The chapter then switches to freewill and determinism ending with a consideration of the theological impact.
