Is God a Moral Monster? ch. 20
Copan ends this fine book right where he should: Jesus. Giving an overview of the contribution of the Hebrews and Christians (see p. 218-9 in particular), Copan shows that Christians have done more for this world than the Crusades. He ends, though, with Jesus as the climax of history and a longing for the shalom promised by the Hebrews. We must always remember that this same God who gives some spurious commands when viewed through an untrained eye also demonstrated the greatest act of love in all of history: death on the cross for us. Jesus will one day wipe every tear, heal every pain, live with us, and be our God. Even so, King Jesus, come quickly.
