Is God a Moral Monster? by Paul Copan

This was an excellent book. I found myself taking notes and finding answers to questions that I long had. I was never satisfied with the standard answers to the OT questions I had been given. This book carefully, exegetically, and convincingly answers all of the major OT questions and gives a framework for understanding any that linger.

My hope is to one day teach the contents of this book as a series for a church. I think this is too critical to the conversation of today's culture to ignore. I would love to spend 7 weeks walking through these questions as a means of teaching OT history and giving apologetic for the tension between the OT and NT God.

I have already and will continue to recommend this book to those who take up serious study of the OT or have questions about OT claims. I have given this book to an atheist who has mounted similar complaints about the OT God (as he put it). This is a go-to book for anyone wanting to wrestle with these questions.

I also hope to spend some time reading through the OT and incorporating the things that I have learned into my reading. I want to make sure that this framework of thinking sticks into my exegesis. So, I plan to spend some time doing some OT reading and having this book close at hand as I do so.

All in all, this was excellent. I am grateful to have read it. I am feeling more and more confident in my faith as I read the books for this D.Min course!
