Becoming Conversant with the Emerging Church, ch. 3

In a style that only D.A. Carson can, this chapter assesses the emerging movement. Setting up mutual exclusions where none are needed, challenging modernism without acknowledging its strengths, and pretending to be more open while closing off are just a few of the critiques. What piqued my curiosity more than anything else is Carson's concern for how the emerging movement uses "deconstuctionism". Having just listened to one of my favorite Christian artist's new album "Deconstruction", I realized just how pervasive this abused concept is.
