Becoming Conversant with the Emerging Church, ch. 1

This first chapter really set the tone. It gives a great understanding of the heart and purposes of the Emerging church. In a fair and sensitive way, Carson presents the main focuses of the movement. I found myself pulled in right away and eager to learn more. I particularly appreciate the direct quotes and treatment of major voices in the emerging church.
