Broken-Heart

Today I read an article in WORLD magazine entitled Worthless! I was struck by a reality I did not know exists. In India, genocide is taking place. According to UNICEF, 50 Million girls are missing from India's population. Look at that number:

50,000,000

Each of those represents someone (perhaps a doctor, father, mother, or abortionist) made a conscious decision to end the life of a child because girls are considered worthless. I have many thoughts. If anyone tries to tell me that ideas/beliefs don't matter, I need only show them this. If someone chooses not to believe in the absolute nature of morality, I need only show them this. This is tragically wrong.

What is more heart-breaking is the fact that I have never heard this statistic before. When I did, I tried to dismiss it but it nagged at my heart. In the prayer of the founder of WorldVision, 'Lord, break my heart for the things that break yours'. Surely, this evil breaks the heart of God more than any other evils this world has experienced.
