Christianity with Power, ch. 4
This is where this book began to truly 'mess with me'. Kraft makes the argument that we have a scientistic and modern way of approaching our faith (and theology). I do not disagree and I believe it is problematic if the pendulum is swung too far that direction. I felt throughout this chapter like Kraft may be throwing the baby out with the bath water. He often falls into the trap of assuming that if he can identify where we base our approach to theology on Enlightenment thinking, then it must be wrong. I am not convinced this always has to be the case. There is much with which I agree from this chapter, but I need to read more.
