Body, Soul & Life Everlasting, ch. 2 and 3
I appreciate that Cooper takes the time to consider Old Testament approaches to the subject. He unpacks the uses of language and concepts. He also considers the philosophical approach taken by Old Testament believers as well.
Cooper follows this up with a chapter on the implications. With Dualism as the focus, we see how concepts like Sheol and the 'intermediate state' are understood from an OT perspective. Laying a solid foundation for understanding Dualism, we are brought to the next chapter which deals with the intertestamental period.
