Kingdom Triangle, ch. 2
Western culture is living off of borrowed capital of a Christian Worldview, asserts Moreland. Because of this
a. it will not look for ways to pay off this debt unless it firsts acknowledges its existence
b. Christians need more courage that what they offer is true and applicable to public life
Scientific naturalism is defined in this chapter dealing with its epistemology (only things discovered by science), natural creation with no creator, and physical explanations to all things. This leads to culture's conclusion that scientific knowledge is either all there is, or superior to any other kind of knowledge - metaphysics are out of the question. He quotes Dallas Willard saying "the powerful, though vague and unsubstantiated presumption is that 'something has been found out' that renders a spiritual understanding of reality in the manner of Jesus simply foolish to those who are 'in the know'" (from Divine Conspiracy).
