This chapter does a great job of unpacking the resurrection of Jesus. The line of thought is clear and cogent. Groothuis builds off of 4 basic facts of NT scholarship: 1. Jesus' death on the cross, 2. burial in a known tomb, 3. the empty tomb, 4. Jesus' followers' experience of Jesus as resurrected. These facts provide adequate grounds for establishing knowledge about the resurrection. Groothuis adds further evidence such as the transformation of disciples to further the claim. However, if weighed fairly, there evidence is sufficient that Jesus was resurrected, which offers proof for his claim to deity.
